【松岡先生のワンポイント解説】

sales(売り上げ)はsale(販売)の複数形。もちろん複数扱いです。increaseには「増加する」という自動詞の意味と、「～を増加させる」という他動詞の意味があります。「売り上げが増加する」という場合は、日本語と同じで自動詞で表します。
